In order to be a successful anchor angler you must be able to visualize the structure so you know where you want to position the boat. The easiest method is to use a buoy to mark a spot for reference and try to position your boat in relation to the buoy.

How to Anchor Your Boat in Wind for Fishing Posted on June 17, 2013

Sometimes the fish are located on small structure and you must present your bait in a small spot on a windy day. Anchoring is the best way to do this because you don’t have to control the boat, you can just fish. The problem is how to anchor your boat for fishing in the right location in wind. You must use a long rope to anchor the boat, the wind can switch a little which moves the boat away and it is difficult to get the boat in the right spot. I found out at my last tournament that the new Minn Kota i-Pilot performs in adverse conditions.

Walleyes are very creative in how they adapt to different water systems so you must learn how to use boat control to catch walleyes.  You can catch them suspended in large schools like salmon, hiding behind logs and weeds like a bass, and hugging the bottom like catfish.  Walleye can be caught from one foot of water to 100 feet of water.
